Digital Presentation and Plan

Hi class,

Just wanted to get some feedback on how to plan the digital presentation and plan, which is the final project for our class.  Following are some questions/ideas - let me know your thoughts.

  • We have 20 students in the class so we can do four groups of five students or five groups of four students.  We have plenty of time for either scenario.
  • Do you want to pick your own groups, have me assign them or sign up for a group based on the organization that you are developing the plan for?
  • Do you want to pick your own organization or have me provide a list of recommendations?
  • Also, there is one group that will present July 21st - if you are missing the last week of class or would like to be in that group for other scheduling issues, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

For my part, I like when you provide a list of organizations for us to choose from. Sometimes an inordinate amount of time is spent (wasted) finding the perfect subject. That's my only preference!

I also agree that a list of recommendations would be very helpful because I like the idea of having a mission instead of waffling back and forth about a topic. Also, my personal preference would be to choose a group based on the organization I'm interested in.

I would prefer to choose my own group, though selecting a group based on the organization would be a close second. Also, I like the idea of choosing from a list of recommendations, for the same reasons Cassandra and Kristin mentioned.

I agree -- choosing our own groups is preferable. I think having a list of recommendations is helpful, but it would be great to make our own choices from that list or have the option to choose an outside group we're interested in.

I would prefer to pick our own groups, but there should be a deadline and then those leftover would be assigned. Additionally, having a list of recommendations would be helpful, but it would also be nice if we could deviate from the list in case something pops up.

Agreed- list of organizations would be helpful. I also think we should sign up for groups based on which organization we are interested in, this will help motivate people to contribute efforts and make sure everyone has a group.

i'd prefer to pick our groups and if you could provide a list of recommendations for organizations that would be great. I agree with Cassandra that a lot of time is wasted trying to pick an organization and time is something I don't have a lot of with 2 classes and a full time internship.

I vote for having four groups of five, having a list of organizations to choose from and assigning groups.

We may need to pick our groups based on time. Like Allison, I am taking two classes right now and work full time.
