Tomorrow, Kaitlin and I will be talking to you about Yammer, a new-ish social media tool for intra-business communication. We aren't going to have time to watch it in class, but if you want to take more in-depth look at exactly how it works and how to use it, we recommend watching this video.
Seems like a social media tool AU could use to better connect the campus community. Just one example of how it would be beneficial: when professors or students are looking for volunteers to participate in research studies, they could post this request on Yammer. Right now there isn't a way to disseminate this info across the entire campus community effectively (I do see some of these type of requests via the Today@AU email communication, but in reality what is the percentage of people who actually open this message? Perhaps not as many as could be reached via social media.
