I don't think about.me is a particularly new development, but it's one I haven't heard mentioned in class or seen blogged about here yet. What it gives you is a hub for all your social media accounts--a single URL to send people to to allow them to learn about you and easily access your profiles on Twitter, WordPress, FourSquare, YouTube, etc.
Here's an explanatory video they just released with a bit more information. And, as an example,
here is my about.me site. Do any of you have profiles like this one? If not, after watching the video, does it look like something you would consider creating?

I think a site like this would be appropriate for those that really want all of their information to be found and shared by all people as it provides a single access point for others to find you. However, if you are someone that enjoys their privacy this type of site would be something you would actually want to stay away from.
I like this idea. I can put this on my resume or something like that as a one stop shop for potential employers. I am not as worried about privacy because I assume that everything I have "out there" is public.
