I didn't do Twitter for my immersion project because, frankly, I'm already hooked. My advice to any new Twitter-er would be to just follow people and get accoustomed to the 'twitterverse' until you feel comfortable putting your own words out.

I did Twitter, too, and it took me a while to get used to it, but I really ended up enjoying it. I'm not sure how much I'll be tweeting and posting myself, but I've definitely kept using it for following/as a news source.
