Majority of people have abandonned brands on Facebook and Twitter

Not easy for companies to keep in touch with their customers on Facebook or Twitter: just see !

I think this leads to a really interesting discussion of social media and whether or not corporations should have a place in it. Facebook started out as purely social. I think the more "marketing" that appears on these sites, the more likely that people will move on to the next trend.

For my part, I have "unliked" brands for almost every one of those reasons.

Great points - Facebook was cool because there was no advertising. Too much advertising and people will turn away and find something else.
